Hairstylist with a knack for knitting offers cozy styles with an edge.
Friends joke that Monika Ramizi’s knitting needles will soon be permanent extensions of her hands.
Ramizi, a longtime hairstylist at Boston’s Mario Russo Salon who was born and raised in Albania and learned to knit from her grandmother as a child, hasn’t stopped since. In 2013, she launched a collection of hand knit pieces, including chunky scarves, capes and sweaters. This asymmetric wrap, which she describes and “very futuristic,” was inspired by The Hunger Games movie.
